British Petroleum disaster, typical capitalism

A month after the initial explosion on a British Petroleum oil rig, millions of barrels of oil continue to spill into the Gulf of Mexico. Both the Obama Administration and British Petroleum have dropped the ball on finding a solution to the problem, which has spiraled out of control. The spill is now being described as the worst environmental disaster in United States’ history. It is estimated that the disaster has cost the company $360 million so far. However, the real cost is to the human and environmental one.

Imperialism kills and keeps on killing in Vietnam, Iraq etc.

According to a recent, 2009 study by the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation and Vietnam’s Ministry of Defense, land mines and unexploded ordnance dot the landscape of Vietnam even though the war ended nearly 35 years ago. More than one third of the land in six central Vietnamese provinces continues to be a serious hazard. According to Vietnam’s Ministry of Defense, 6.6 million hectares (6.3 million acres) are still contaminated.
